The Neurology Center is the premier provider of neurological services in the Washington DC metro area. With eight clinical locations, state of the art sleep lab and an administrative facility, we provide convenient, state of the art services to our patients, referring physicians and community. This single specialty practice was started by Marvin Korengold, MD and Howard Silby, MD in 1969 in downtown Washington, DC. Additional offices were established in suburban Maryland and elsewhere in the District as the practice grew and added physicians. The group has long maintained a reputation for excellence.

Quick service clean location easy to find
My 84 year old dad was seen by Dr. Shawn Nelson Schmitt for a neuropsych evaluation due to his Alzheimer's disease. Dr Schmitt is the first doctor (out of a dozen) over the course of a year, who was actually able to get my dad to respond to his questions. Dr Schmitt treated my father with the utmost respect, and spoke to him clearly and genuinely. He was patient, humorous and very relatable. He made my dad feel comfortable; even when Dr Schmitt didn't fully understand what my dad was saying, he didn't display irritation or frustration with him. I can't imagine him treating my dad any better if it was his own father. In this day and age, you just don't see this anymore with doctors stressed, overworked, over booked and overall cynical and jaded by their jobs. Dr Schmitt was energized, pleasant and loving. I assume he's relatively new at practicing because of the freshness with which he approached us. I hope that he does whatever he has to do to keep his outlook and manner. It's needed, especially in this field. The Providence Neurology Center would do well to ensure Dr Schmitt stays onboard! They get 5 stars because of him.
You all suck I called to schedule an appointment and you don't accept my insurance. I been trying to figure out what's wrong with me for the past 3 weeks and my condition is getting worse. Can you all please refer to someone I can see. I don't understand why the state gives out insurance if I can't be seen. My condition is neurological and not even hospitals can help. I have been back and forth for 3 weeks from my doctor to the ER and all and still no luck! Someone please help!!!! I'm panicking
