Very nice shop with amazing service. Extremely knowledgeable staff. This is not your typical bike shop or even your typical high end shop--this one is much better!
An absolutely outstanding experience. I was in town for a day and wanted to 1) rent a high end road bike 2) have a guide take me on an epic ride. Allison and James went above and beyond to prepare the bike for my arrival and then lead me on a 100 mile ride of glory. They were helpful, responsive and went out of their way to ensure I had fun. Highly recommend them!
i did not get the USD400 full bike fit i paid for. it promised many including saddle fit and positioning which i have issues with. unfortunately, Steven feels that the 'basic' fit session i had was what i needed -- he changed my pedal from Look to SpeedPlay with longer spindle. and one of the measurement to conclude that basic fit is what i needed is when i cannot hold my body position out of the handle-bar cycling. even the Basic Fit Price-List has Video for prior, during and post-fit which again was not set up for me so i can visualize the difference. and to add to that is Alison knows that i am from Asia travelling all the way to the US to schedule the bike fit with them as part of my business trip.
Bike Effect is awesome! They've always helped me out, whether it's been a quick fix, providing some knowledge, or a detailed fitting. On the fitting front - I have never had such a comprehensive fit as I've gotten from Steve. He takes the time to not only help you find your natural position but to explain why that fit works for you. No pressure, learned a ton, and a much more comfortable ride was the outcome for me. Dylan and Scott can fix just about anything too, and they've got all the little specialty tools that can be a little obscure (like Cannondale Hollowgram crank pullers). Alison holds it all together and keeps things running smoothly. A really high end experience in every way, lucky to have this shop here!

If you're looking for authentic customer service, look no further. Steven is an experienced fit mechanic who gets his clients to feel nuances and makes adjustments based on individual body geometry. He is easy going and a pleasure to spend time with. Allison has created a wonderful selection of products for the avid road cyclist with quality taste.

I came in to the shop because I had been looking for some particular Lake shoes and they just happened to have them. I was immediately greated by a few people when I came in. They asked what I was looking for and I told them and we got down to business. I had read a few reviews where people felt the shop was a little 'snooty' and I can tell you that I never once got that feeling. Allison was great. She knew her Lake shoes and we had a good conversation about them. My only complaint is that I have to drive from Camarillo to find a shop like this. I will be returning in the future, possibly for a bike fit. Thanks for the good experience Bike Effect.
I really don't know what I'd do without this shop. I came here for a fit and I've had three of my friends get fitted after me as they were all astonished at how much knowledge I gathered as well as how much better I looked and felt on the bike. Scott, the bike mechanic, is just a magician and is the one person I blindly trust my bikes to. James is perhaps the nicest person I know and is very passionate about bikes and cycling and always has great input if I have any questions about anything, from cycling, gear, etc. I always engage in great conversations with him. Steve and Alison, the owners are always around and always eager to help, always acknowledging your visit. They carry top gear and offer top, if not pro, service. I highly and always recommend this shop. Pay a visit, and hopefully you do when James is there.
Great shop and brilliant Christmas Eve bike ride with Rapha this year (2018)!
Great staff here! Someone tried to steal my front wheel and I needed a replacement part. The staff dug through some spare parts they had. It took about 20 minutes to find and fit the part. They it to me no charge. Fantastic service and fantastic shop!
