Company Description

Ryan Hersh had a morning commute with just 4 quick miles door to door, but day after day after day it was taking him OVER an hour in the city’s gridlocked traffic to get to work. He knew there had to be a be a better way. So he bought a bike.

Ryan (found of Edison) is the MAN. I have never met anyone so passionate about what he does, and so passionate about what he can do for Atlanta. Not only does he love what he does, he is darn good at it. It took one test ride on a bike, and I was in, and it has completely changed my life and my perspective on transportation. I am able to bike from my apartment to work in less time than driving with absolutely no sweat. Thank you Ryan and Edison for creating such an amazing product.

Still 5 stars! We've had the electric bike for a couple of weeks now, and it has far exceeded our expectations. The battery life is more robust than we had feared. The pedal-assist, even at its lowest setting, has been sufficient for my husband to join me on errands despite his easy fatigue. (He has diabetes and has had pancreas and kidney transplants; the Edison bike covers the endurance challenge, and the additional exercise appears to be stabilizing his blood sugar readings.) And we both find we're looking forward to getting out on our bikes to run errands or have meals at places that were inconvenient to reach otherwise from our car-free household. We're still early in the experiment, but so far, I think this is the purchase that will be the biggest success story of 2017.

Commuting bliss is an understatement. The bike is top shelf quality and has a personality all its own, with the clean lines and aggressive stance that demands attention. The pedal assist makes you feel like you’re a professional cyclist (without the effort) and when you blaze past traffic the feeling is accentuated. When I first tried the bike out at their shop the owner Ryan said it best. “When you ride it you get it”. I couldn’t agree more. A big shout-out to literally the best customer service experience I’ve ever had as well. Not to be that existential guy, but I feel a deeper connection to my city when I get to ride through my favorite parts of town before work instead of dealing with stop-and-go traffic. I had previously rode my road bike to work on occasion, but had to put it back on the rack when it got hot out, and had to ditch it completely when my commute doubled recently. This bike has me back out and not a drop of sweat on my shirt and tie despite riding during the hottest days. Overall, this is a no-brainer purchase if you love being on a bike and being outdoors but don’t want to exhaust yourself on your way to work. I still own a car that I bought new only a year ago, but I plan on using it so little that the tires rot now that I have an Edison. Go ride it and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.

I love my Edison! I commute from East Atlanta to Emory's main campus and my bike gets me there faster than I ever did driving. Every day I get to just zip by the traffic and ride right up to where I'm going. It's such a bonus not to have to worry about parking anymore! The bike makes handling all of Atlanta's hills a piece of cake, and I never have to shower or change clothes once I get to where I'm going. Ryan talked through all the right upkeep, the supplies/accessories I'd need, and has been on hand whenever I've had a question. The buying process was smooth and I was hooked once I took my first test ride. Getting an Edison has been a great investment. I love this bike!

I had been thinking about getting an electric bike for a bit and a friend of mine told me about Edison. I was initially impressed with how quick and responsive setting up an appointment to check the bikes out was. But, as soon as I got on one to test ride I was really impressed. So well made and thought out: tons of power, light-weight, easy to use. Its just like biking but without hills. The price is actually quite reasonable when you start pricing out what all the individual compoents would cost on their own: and if you built your own I doubt it would be as integrated and sleek as the Edison. If you have any interest in electric bikes come check them out, if only to chat and try them out. Highly, highly recommended.

250 review...updated after 900 miles. purchase experience was great. Ryan is passionate about his e-bikes. While you can buy ebikes on the web with similar specs, i liked the idea of buying local. Ryan stands behind his bikes. I had a couple problems several weeks after purchase. Ryan immediately answered my text and offered to meet me the next day. He then gave me his personnel cell in case I need to reach him for any reason. Since getting the bike going to work is fun and relaxing. My route to Emory/CDC has quite a few hills. The bike easily manages the hills and I don't feel like I had a workout prior to getting to the office. On the red bike I can get over 50 miles and still have 1/3 of the battery left. I am glad I bought a bike from a local shop. Try an Edison bicycle and have fun. 900 miles and going strong. No issues with the bicycle after 900 miles. Bicycle as fun to ride as day one. I added splash guards so I could ride in the rain. Bike has handles all weather conditions without any issues.

I bought one of these in January after following the electric bike market for around 4 years. I came across the Edison (googling "electric bike atlanta") and was impressed with the specifications that it had for the price, especially compared to comparably priced bikes that I had come across in searches. One test-ride and I was sold. I have used it to commute most weekdays since. My commute is 7.5 miles each way, mostly bike paths and lanes with some shared roads and lots of hills. I wanted to try an electric because I was looking for something that would get me to work without being excessively sweaty, but also something that I could also use with low or no power in the afternoon if I wanted more exercise. Most electric bikes are too heavy for this to be very practical. The Edison works perfectly for this purpose. Atlanta is really a perfect electric bike city in terms of spacing, weather, and hills, and the Edison fits the city like a glove. I was slow to actually buy an electric bike because I wanted one that I could trust. What recourse would I have if there was an issue of some kind? How long would it take to get it resolved? The major advantage of Edison for me was that I could meet the owner (Ryan) and see how passionate he was about his bikes. It's not something you can fake. Sure enough, the bike has proven to be very durable, and I trust (and many of the other reviews can attest) that Ryan would assist me with any issue I might have. No issues so far, though, after around 400 miles. All in all, buying this bike was a great decision, and I can honestly say that I look forward to my commute each day. I think that most people in most cities would find the Edison to be a great electric bike option. Update 10/25/18: Just hit 4,000 miles today. I really love this machine. Everything I said at 400 miles still holds true now. It has really improved my life immeasurably over the past 2 years.

My experience with Edison has been all around phenomenal. First of all, having an electric bike has transformed my life: I commute to work, travel quickly to meetings without having to pedal in a pencil skirt or work up a sweat, and do my grocery shopping all on bike! It has reduced my overall transportation cost/time (along with being eco-friendly for the benefit of all). Second, it’s just a great company. Ryan the owner is passionate about what he does and goes above and beyond to make sure my bike is in great shape even after 800+ miles. When people ask about my bike, I say: this was the best $2000 I’ve ever spent. Get a bike! You won’t regret it!
