I’ve been to a lot of bike shops and I don’t exaggerate: this is far and away the best. The mountain bikes we rented worked great, the trails were beautiful and challenging, the dog was adorable, coffee was excellent, hand made leather products were original and well built. If you have any interest in cycling, pay Topanga Creek Outpost a visit.
Best bike shop I've ever been to. They gave us a great route directly from the shop. They also have a Saturday morning group ride that unfortunately we weren't able to do. They even gave us some freshly baked coffee cake (with Girl Scout Thin Mint Crumbles) at the shop. Great group of guys. Next time we make it back to the LA Area, we'll certainly stop by again.
Banana bread was on point. Bicycles were awesome and in great shape. They gave us a fun trail ride to do. Great dogs.
Really great shop. I rented from them & it was definitely the best shop I have rented from. Great bikes & prices, very helpful staff. Really chill place overall - not your average bike shop for sure (in a good way). The fact that you can ride right from the shop is great as well. If you want to do any mountain biking in the area, I highly recommend you check it out.
Great place to rent a mountain bike and ride the Santa Monica mountain range or buy a bike or some of their fine handmade Goods. The guys that run the shop are very friendly and knowledgeable. and you can even join them on one of their local rides....
I went to the shop to be fitted for a bike that needs to get me through a 5000 mile adventure. What I like most about the store is that it feels like the Topanga I remember as a 6 year old in 1998. The vibe is sincere, and it’s genuine, and you feel like a friend the moment you walk in. The owner filled me with a hopeful levity that I’m still floating on a week later. When you visit this wonderful place, and you’re sitting in a cozy chair in a wooden room having fresh coffee and banana bread, ask him if he’ll share the first sentence of his business plan. Totally changed my perspective, and I’m very grateful.
This place is small but well-stocked for its size, and gorgeous. And the folks are so friendly. Coffee and cake too. Great little shop.
Great people! Had a blast on their rental bike. They have nice bikes to rent. Hardtail and full suspension.

There is no bike shop on the planet that has the kind of vibe and unique product line that this shop tucked away in Topanga Canyon does. I just turned a regular client for a year-and-a-half, and love spending time here. Is there a mountain biker, he must come in for an 8 a.m. ride on Saturday mornings. Learn all the trails of Topanga with a great group of people, and come back for some great coffee and banana bread.
