I wouldnt even give this place a one star I'd I didn't have to.
1. Parked in his empty parking lot, and got rudely told by a different shop employer we need to ask to park there before even asking if we we're going to be customers. So we go in to ask the person whom is nowhere to be found in his messy cluttered establishment if we can park for a minute and comeback, when he rudely responds with what part of the no parking sign did you not understand. Nevermind we will gladly park in the shaded mice parking garage that we accidentally missed the turn into.
Local business will not survive if they do not keep the local austin friendly mentality. Unfortunately this will not be one I support considering they were rude to potential customers, and obviously don't need the money. So unless you want to find a way to walk into this store through his mess. Park and shop at the peddlers down the street.
Walked in with a problem on my bike, and they found it and fixed super quick! They also didn't charge me for it! Top notch service 👍
Last Sunday my bike's gears loosened to the point where I couldn't pedal. I was about halfway to my destination and close to another bike shop near UT's campus, but it was closed. I arrived at Waterloo right as they were opening for the day. The staff was kind enough to tighten my bike's gear and send me on my way without even charging. I feel very thankful to them for their service.
I walked into Waterloo Cycles on Christmas Eve hoping for the best and expecting the worst. I had been to 4 other shops looking for a bike for my wife. Waterloo is packed with more bikes per sq foot than should be allowed, but I found the perfect one. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Great local bike shop.
Terrible customer service
Very much appreciated owner's pumping up a tire for me, and helping me to re-attach my u-lock mount (which had broken) at no cost. Very kind, Austin-y thing to do. He has a lot of advice, and a lot of expertise. I also bought rechargeable bike lights here, which are still going strong a year later.
Not a lot of space in the store, I do wish there was a bit more awareness around gender. If I don't ask for you to do it for me, I'm capable of doing it myself, and I'm probably looking forward to it ;)
Friendly neighborhood bike shop, more interested in the work than the profit -- glad they are around. Thanks, Waterloo!
Takes at least 2 hours to have your tube replaced. If you show up at 4, he will probably have it done by tomorrow at noon. Plus he charges way too much to have your tube replaced because he can. It is conveniently located near campus, so if you get a flat, you don't have many other options.
Very friendly and helpful!
Great service on a repair. The guy at the front gave me good advice and did a small tune up. Didn’t even want to charge me. Will make it my go to place for anything related to bicycles from now on.
Asked to fixed my brakes. Very nice on the outside but did some shady stuff. Stole the caps off my bike tires and I'm pretty sure he screwed up/broke my Shimano suspension. I would recommend avoiding him.
