This place is a Ripoff they take advantage of their customers vulnerability. They reel you in by telling you that they will tow your car for free. Only to have your car up there for days on in. Charged me $330 just for an electrical diagnostic test. Then told me that they couldn't give me an estimate of the repairs. Stay away from this place. I don't recommend this location nothing but lazy mechanics & the owner is no good.

The people at this facility are amazing at what they do. They show you exactly what you need to get repaired as well as show you the cost and the parts that you may need to buy. If I had to recommend a place I would say go here in order to get your vehicle looked at.
Joe was great. He let me know every step of the way how my car was doing and he was very courteous.
This shop and it employees deserve MORE than 5✨! So let me take you on the "long story short version" as to WHY this shop and its employees ARE so wonderful.... I have an 02' mercury mountaineer that needed a transmission replacement. I searched online looking for a shop. I called a few, but the tone, and the professionalism wasn't there. I saw AAMCO and realized I've used them in the past. I called and spoke w/Joe. Right off the bench Joe(AWESOME sauce💗) the other employees that I've spoken with, and the owner were VERY nice, courteous, and professional. So I had my "Girl" towed there. These guys are world class nice and awesome. As a woman, and especially if you don't know ANYTHING abouts cars... You're always hoping NOT to have a run in with a horrible shop, and get taken for a fool. But this IS NOT the case. One would HOPE🙏, to run into a shop like this. They're just great people and the service was on point. I believe AAMCO is a Great company anyway. I used this company when I lived in San Antonio Tx... Same thing: nice, courteous and as ALWAYS professional. As I said they (123rd and Halsted shop) deserve MORE than 5 ✨. YOU guys ARE Rock Stars✨✨✨✨✨!
I initial was referred by a family member who happen to be a mechanic, insisted that I go to the location on halsted, most of his customers, he sends them over there to have work done there, I first met Joe Johnson by phone , who is very professional at what he does, he took great care of me giving me updates on the estimation of when my car would be ready and explaining how to get finances to pay for the work. He was very helpful in that manner as well as resolving a recent matter with my vechical. Joe step in and resolved the matter in a professional way. I really appreciate Joe for helping me by making me feel relaxed and confident that the job would be done right. If you go to the location on 123rd and Halsted ask for Joe Johnson, he will take good care of you and assured you the work will be done right.
Don't even deserve a star I took my car to the Aamco on 120th and halsted for a simple transmission oil change this morning, instead of them giving me a transmission oil change they had told me that they need to run some Test on it first, when I got my car back it looks like it was ok, the moment I drove off in it start making weird sounds, smoke start coming out the engine, the heat stop working, my car start over heat, not only that, the fan belt was off and my car stop running on me and my kids all this just for a simple transmission oil change
A+ in customer service! Would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs a honest and top notch quality service for your car.
I visited from Iowa and my car stopped, luckily I am a loyal Aamco customer in Iowa so Chicago Aamco was able to repair my car in an awesome time!
