I took in my AudiTT into this garage the second week of December because it made scraping noises and I suspected the transmission was about to give up. Stephen noticed the alternator belt needed to be replaced and said that he could not diagnose whether something was wrong with the transmission without replacing it. He kept the car for 2 months, never once calling to give update. When I called, or came by in person, he was making all kinds of excuses for the delay, the most interesting one being that he could not start the car. On the 2 month “anniversary” of me dropping the car, responding to my phone call, he let me know that he changed the belt and that the noise that I brought in the car in the first place, was indeed likely due to an internal transmission problem. So in total, what would have taken 10 minutes waiting at the shop of a knowledgeable mechanic, took me 2 months and cost me $500 plus aggravation. The good news is that since I kind of knew that the transmission is shot and since I was without a car for weeks, I bought myself a brand new 911T which I will make sure he will never get to work on. I would actually recommend he quit working on cars and went to the inprirational speaker business. In any case, stay away from this shop unless you have an old Bentley to sell. Took the car to an other mechanic, Vaughan automotive, just to get another opinion; it turned out that replacing the transmission fluid solved the problem. Enough said.
