Jim Waugh started HonToyCare in 1999 after working for nine years as the assistant manager in a Honda dealership body shop. The news of his honest, customer service-oriented shop spread quickly among friends and family. HonToy grew quickly, and within a year Jim hired two people and moved out of their initial 1500 square foot shop to a larger space.

Jim and his team always provide excellent service in a very timely manner. He explains issues in terms that I can understand. He provides a very fair assessment of the the work that needs to be done and does not go above that. I highly recommend the services provided by HonToy!

Don’t let the name fool you! You don’t have to have a Honda or Toyota to bring your car here! I have been bringing my Mazda here since 2009 and would say 90% of my experiences have been great. Jim and his team are skilled and friendly. Always a fast turn around on my car and the pricing is as good or better than anyone else in town.

Jim and the staff at HonToyCare are wonderful! I have gone to them for years for various cars and minor repairs. It’s also important to know that the name implies Honda and Toyota but they work on all models, even my very old Dodge Grand Caravan. My geriatric vehicle needed a new engine, transmission, breaks and starter. They got it done quickly, professionally, and for a price far below what I would have paid at a dealership. Plus, what’s not to love about a free pint of ice cream for every $100 transaction. The service alone takes the sting out of the cost of major work but the ice cream helps a lot too! Thank you so much, you guys are the best.

We are fairly new to Colorado and having someone to rely on nearby is important, especially when we drive back and forth to Texas and are always on the road for business. Jim and his team are awesome! Even though I moved away from Boulder, I keep coming back for car appointments. I know I can trust Jim, and that he always recommends what's best for my car. Plus they do a great job on my car. Makes me feel safer. And it's easy to book an appointment, even when I decide to come to town at the last minute!

I know one bad review won’t do much to this place, but please learn from me and take your money elsewhere: Jim doesn’t seem to care at all. We brought in an 05 rav4 that was running rough and had a check engine light on. He read a code and said we needed a $2k repair. Brought the car back in the next week with 40 miles extra and similar problems, and Jim told us it needs an entirely new engine. Doesn’t seem to have any sympathy and won’t refund any money for the original repair. Jim didn’t really seem to care at all about me or my car, I’m not sure if he actually looked at it, or just reads codes, because he told me it has 4wD when it definitely does not.
