Amazing doctors, surgeons, and nurses. I have been in a lot of hospitals for way too many surgeries. They are the most caring of any I have seen. The Mayo was the worst.
I am a breast cancer patient, and my dad just went through cancer too, a couple years ago. KU is absolute wonderful, I really don't have anything to compare them to another facility, but they are always super nice, they take the time to go over everything with me, in my level of understand, and even though they are super smart, they talk my language and don't try to talk over my head. I can only remember a couple times that I have come across a grumpy person, and one time I probably provoked it by accident, and before I left that area I believe I had mended those fences and she spoke each time after that when I seen her, with a smile. just starting radiation and everyone is super nice and they call me by my first name. Spent 5 days in the hospital, and had super nurses, aids, doctors, janitors, equipment scanners, food delivery personnel, everyone!! Had surgery at KU Indian creek, had nothing but super care from everyone there. And they don't just take care of me, they take care of my family that surround me whenever possible. Thank you KU, you are teaching them to be great!!!
It’s a wonderful place to get top notch care! The doctors and nurses are caring and kind.
I want to give a shout out to the ICU unit 61; they were absolutely amazing. They did everything in their power to help my grandma , they gave her top notch care and confront. The nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists were wonderful. Words cannot put forth the appreciation. Love always from the Buck’s & Estes & Youtsey’s
Been up there with my mommy for Dr Visit and test she is up there now and will be for the next seven to ten days I can't say thank you enough for the carring kind treatment they are giving my mom and us God bless each and everyone
I just spent a week on the trauma floor after an accident caused limb threatening injuries . The staff were so kind, knowledgeable and helpful to me. All my nurses and techs were excellent ! Even those who just came to help when mine were busy you all were great! Thanks for all your help. As a nurse myself I was blown away by the excellent job you did. Thank you all!
So I’m sitting here at KU Heart Center after my procedure. My heart cooperated for Dr Sheldon and the ablation was a success. I’m having some BP issues and nausea, all the nurses have been wonderful about helping me with these minor issues. My care here has been far beyond what I could have ever imagined, every single medical professional has been beyond wonderful.
Parts of this hospital are absolutely Outstanding, others well they might need to replace. My daughter sees 3 doctors here. 2 we absolutely adore! The new one we just stared seeing however, lacks the ability to care about her pediatric patients. Or listen to the parent about medical history. When you live 3+ hours away having appointments with all 3 specialist would be amazing. However it seems that can't be done. I would avoid Jessi Zibert in allergy/immunology. If you can get Amanda McKinley in neurology, definitely do it! Same with Dr. Jones in Rhumetology.
Everyone we have delt with has been very compassionate and profession wanting to help my husband any way they could,to get him on liver transplant list , no complaints in the staff whatsoever . We visited there last week for transplant evaluation and couldn't have hand picked a better group of people. My husband may not get put on the list for certain medical reasons etc. but overall we have been treated fantastic. Prayers for my husband that he meets all the criteria ! There is a lot to be expected , but with such a huge life changing gift its understandable . Praying for the gift of life ! Thanks to all the staff treating us with respect !
Some of the Nurses need to go back to school or major in a different field. Just because you an RN doesn't eliminate you from caring for and respecting the patient. They don't respond to call lights I was here we'll when I got here his call light was already on. Nurse, Aide even a few doctors walk right pass it went on for an hour before anyone decided to step in just because they saw a family member here other than that they would've walked right past as well. He did not even want anything major just for someone to hand him the telephone anyone could've answered that light housekeeping. Just imagine if our loved ones one worse off and couldn't push the call light or let them know their needs.... Sad nice hospital but lack of nice people working here no caring people all seems to have an attitude.
