Very good place to do business. My son's only mode of transportation needed repair, even though they were booked, they still fit us in. Great place.

Excellent job reassembling my bicycle after a cross country move. The guys in the service shop got me the accessories I needed, and helped get me back up & running. Thank you!

Moving to the area and wanted some information about the local trails. Staff was extremely informative even provide me with maps and their personal knowledge of the trails in the surrounding areas. Store is very large and well stocked with bikes and everything you need for both road and mountain biking. I’m sure I will stop by here a lot after we move. Would recommend the store to anyone.

Update to my review, 12/10/18. The owner personally called me to sort this out which was much appreciated. He seemed as confused about the exchange as I was. My husband and I just got the call that everything has been corrected on the bike and it's ready for pick up. While it was unfortunate to have to go through this situation the effort to correct has gone a long way. Clearly it mattered to the owner and after some discussion we came to a resolution both sides can agree to. The staff member didn't handle this right but it's a learning experience and doesn't seem to reflect the whole organization. I'll let this one bad experience go for now in effort to have a positive relationship with this local business as we all have a bad day from time to time. Sometimes the bumpy roads lead to the best destinations and I'm hoping this is the case here. ------------------------------ I debated on even leaving a review because of how upset I am. I brought in my Dad's old 05/06? Specialized mountain bike to get restored. It was stored in riding condition but needed some tcl after being in storage in my house. Money was never an issue on fixing it and still isn't. I brought it in on 11/30, had this great experience with the service staff about restoring it. They came up with a $350 quote that was a little brow raising but I had plans to buy a whole new bike plus accessories plus this repair so this wasn't an issue. I told them to proceed, I wanted it fixed. They had spent an hour building the quote while I talked with a sales person about a new bike, everything seemed clear cut. I was on cloud 9 that it would be ready in a few days. In the end I called yesterday to find out additional hidden repairs were needed and all they had done was clean the bike. I was never called though they said they did and had the right number. I decided to come pick the bike up. I get there to pick it up last night and was treated dismissively by the person who checked me out after he looked me up in the system. His whole demeanor changed in how I was spoken to once he realized I was there for the old bike. I get this was an old bike but it was my Dad's treasure and I wanted to see it in riding condition again. Even though they said they had only gotten to cleaning it the grips were gone, chain was gone, everything was just gone. When I asked about the missing parts I was treated rudely again and he claimed that it was in very bad condition so they trashed the parts. This guy never saw my bike when I dropped it off and while it was old and needed work it was just as my Dad left it the day he died. Not trashed...full disclosure my Dad had a brain aneurysm literally loading this exact bike into his car for his daily ride. It was NOT trashed, it was just old and needed a polish and some new parts to get it on the road. The employee was trying to cover the situation however he felt necessary and was cold the whole time. I came in with a semi functional bike looking to have it spiffed up and I left in tears with a pile of bike parts. This was not at all what I was promised or expected. I would have left with these repairs plus a new bike, car rack, helmet etc but now I'll never come back. I'm sitting here writing this review wishing I had just left the bike in our spare room in the place of honor it holds in my heart. It may be old and not fancy but I never came in looking for the newest best shiny bike.... it's just sad because this was the place my Dad got the bike originally. Now 12 or so years later it's just a pile of useless garbage to it's staff. They didn't charge me anything so I guess I should take that as a win but overall just really disappointed in my experience here.

Fantastic customer service! It took 5 minutes for us to to come in and rent two road bikes, great quality bikes, very friendly people at the rental area, and across the whole store. We were coming in from out of town, and all of the employees made an effort to welcome us and get to know us. When renting our bikes, they mentioned they had a Sunday morning group ride (with options for different levels/speeds). We showed up to friendly faces, a great route, and great people! Being a female cyclist, oftentimes bike shops won't suggest "fast" group rides to me as they just assume I wouldn't be able to keep up as a women. However, they recommended us (my boyfriend and I were renting) the A/"all business" ride without batting an eye or making any comments about it being too fast for either of us. Although this doesn't seem huge, it's definitely a nice change of what I'm used to :) Recommended for their large selection of rentals and fantastic customer service.

Brought my bike in to get fit by Skot and it was awesome. He was super nice and approachable and explained everything he was adjusting/recommending to me. Really helped me to understand the body mechanics behind getting a solid fit. As a new cyclist for sport, I was very intimidated by the bike scene but honestly all of my shop experiences have been super awesome so far. People just want you to have a good time on your bike, and that’s 100% true for Skot. Can’t recommend enough!

The other day I went to the south Austin TX bicycle sport shop. I got there right as they were closing the doors. I ran up and asked if I could just look at the shoes quick. An employee said yes that I could come on in and I could check out the shoes. He was super super helpful bringing lots of shoes to try on and making sure I get the right fit for my foot. He is a really nice guy and knowledgeable. So I bought me some new awesome Specialized shoes for my spd pedals. Iv been riding them lately and I absolutely love them. They feel very comfortable to wear and feel sturdy.

Bicycle Sports Shop offers a large selection of bikes and gear. They have a knowledgeable staff. If you purchase a bike it comes with a free 90 day bike tuneup and a 1 year bike maintenance complete refurbish. Also, a free half day bike rental (I guess this is good if you have people visiting from out of town 'cause Austin is a fantastic city to tour on bike). I was very specific in what I wanted and they did not try to upsell me even though they offer VERY high end touring and mountain bikes.

It was after hours and I was experiencing bike issues in the heavy rain and you opened your doors for me to drop off my bike... far and away some of the best customer service I've experienced in retail. Mitchell and the gang in the service department have been extremely helpful and have given me peace of mind moving forward with my mountain bike. They have answered questions I've had about the bike and even specific details on the service I'm receiving. I want to say thank you for being an awesome business and will continue to be my one stop shop for all pedal related matters.

Updated review - after an issue ordering a part, I spoke with the service department and they explained the issue openly, understood where I was coming from and offered to more than make up for the delay. After this encounter I really think their minds are in the right place of helping customers and Austin cyclists. You can really tell they are committed to improvements with their current renovations as well. We are lucky to have a helpful great local bike shop and I hope to see them continue to be successful and visit them in the future.
